Travel

Philip Murray

The globe is truer than the chart;
Travel is round, not flat.
To go forward is to come back;
Ask any distant heart.

Go any place;
The round of time and space
Motions you home again.
Who wait wear your remembered face;

And for those,
Weather, bird and worm,
Having also their circles,
Say: to leave is to return.

Then, traveler,
Bear in mind - the line
Extended to an arc
Is only part; the circle is all.
