Air Schooner #11: Writer as Parent

6.15.2012

Poet Nicole Cooley (Milk Dress, Breach) and nonfiction writer David Griffith (A Good War is Hard to Find: The Art of Violence in America) join Scott Winter and Stacey Waite for a conversation about parenting and writing. Cooley confronts writing about her kids, being a mom, and the “bizarre taboo about really telling the truth.” Would truth-telling shatter the myth of the American mom? Griffith talks about becoming a parent, and how getting married and having kids has changed his work. Both authors read from their work.
