Green Eyes
I’m the imprisoned women’s screams.
I’m the open heart of the streets’ screams.
Walls can’t quiet my voice—even in this moment
As I hide in a nowhere land.
Which sword complained about my green eyes?
Batons with a thousand nerves throw
Fire on my soul. Tear away my head, or heart,
Or leg—I’ll sew them back with screams.
My pen will never be blood or bullets, my notebook
Not your flesh. I’ll aim only at evil—not people,
I swear to my Iran.
